Klaus Albert

Born 1943 in Dresden, Germany. Studied Interior Design at the Applied Arts School in Heiligendamm and later Metal Design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle/Saale, Germany. Since 1978 I have been working freelance as a graduate sculptor and metal designer. I live and work near Schwerin, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.  In 1991 I was founding member of the art association Wiligrad (“Kunstverein Wiligrad e.V.) and continue as a member of the board. My advocate artistic activities for projects with Architectural Art/ Public Art is a part of my daily life that is most meaningful to the world around me.  Representation at major art junctures include the national art fair Cologne (Köln) and art fair Frankfurt.Since 1987 to the present, my curatorial contributions have includedsix International symposia for metal sculptor. Exhibitions include a 1998 visit to the U.S. with an exhibition at “gallery Art 54” in New York City.   I made a study visit across the USA (San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago)  2004/2005 I participated at the Sculptor symposium “Spring 2004/2005” in Chattanooga USA (Curator, John Henry)2004-2009 I was member of the European Sculpture Network. Furthermore I am member of the federal association of artists Germany. I have had several solo exhibitions and exhibition participations both nationally and internationally. My works are represented in numerous public and private art collections.
